Profile

One team across disciplines, so nothing gets handed off at the seam.

The Dot Space is a design and development studio in the Netherlands. We work across software, hardware, and industrial design, usually on projects that need more than one of them at once.

We've worked across the Gulf, the Levant, Eastern Europe and the Netherlands, in events, logistics, utilities, publishing and legal services. The work takes a few recurring shapes: operating layers for organisations running many things at once, platforms for events and the people who attend them, software that tracks vehicles and deliveries, interfaces for infrastructure that has to be read in real time, and frontend engineering inside high-traffic systems. Where the problem is physical, it goes to CAD, prototyping and mechanism design. Where the problem is that there is no engineering function yet, we stand one up: roles, standards, hiring, and interim leadership until a permanent lead is ready.

Most studios stop at a boundary. The software agency stops where the hardware starts; the design consultancy stops where manufacturing starts. We don't have that seam, which is usually why a project ends up with us. Everything starts from a single dot: a pixel, a coordinate, a node on a board. Everything we deliver grows out of that point.

Disciplines

Software Engineering

Customer-facing platforms, internal tools, mobile apps, and the APIs between them

Industrial Design

Product design, CAD modeling, physical prototyping

Hardware & IoT

Circuit design, sensor integration, embedded computing

CAD & 3D Printing

Parametric modeling, FDM/SLA printing, iterative prototyping

Products

Productised platforms clients license rather than commission

Design

UI/UX, motion, brand systems, visual identity

How we work

Precision over speed

We'd rather ship one thing properly than three things that need fixing.

Cross-disciplinary by default

The best solutions come from thinking across software, hardware, and design simultaneously.

No black boxes

You own everything we build. Clear documentation, clean handoffs, no vendor lock-in.

Direct collaboration

No account managers or layers. You work directly with the people building your project.
